Practice Makes Perfect
Interviewing can be very stressful. We often get tongue-tied when asked a key question. We all do this but there’s a way around this problem. In the military they prevent stress-related problems through training. They feel that if you repeat something over and over, when the time comes to perform - your chances of success will be greatly increased. Based on my military training and experience I agree with this approach. These are the real nasty gut-wrenching questions every applicant hears in his darkest nightmares. We know they’re out there and sooner or later someone is going ask one or more of them so make like a Boy Scout and be prepared. If you can, have a friend hammer you with a nasty attitude until you feel comfortable fending off the attack. Write the questions down on paper. Then sit in front of a mirror and practice answering them until you can deliver your answers flawlessly. Then when you’re hit with one of these gems, you’ll be ready. Write down all the really tough questions an interviewer might ask. Ones like:
