Is there a phone ringing off the hook but going unanswered? Can you pick up on any conversations? Are the employees smiling and at ease? Do they seem relaxed and happy or are they sneering and scowling? Is the place neat and clean? Are there notices posted on a bulletin board prohibiting all sorts of things? Can you pick up clues as to their dominant corporate culture?
During even a short stay you should be able to get somewhat of a grasp on the “feel” of the place and the mood of it’s people.
