“Why did you leave your job with ABC Tire?” This is a common question yet a very feared one. The best overall answer is simply to say “to pursue a better opportunity”. But there are some other good answers.
“They weren’t keeping up with the competition” is another good answer that won’t raise any eyebrows. But don’t even begin to say anything even vaguely negative as that will go against you.
“They are transferring their operations offshore” will also work. “Technology is making their product obsolete” is another winner that might apply.
