Turn Job Search Negatives Into Positives

Have you ever watched a politician who was caught red-handed doing something they knew was wrong? They will always say something like "I suppose I could have made a better choice - but I'll never do that again - I've learned a valuable lesson!" I

If you have negative information in your background, you should play that same game. As always - keep things on a positive note.

You accepted what happened gracefully and are now happy it happened as it opened the door to bigger and better things. (If you reflect on the disasters in your past life you’ll probably find that though they were painful at the time, many of them actually did lead to new and better experiences).

“It was a good learning experience” is a really upbeat comment. Be prepared to discuss the lesson you learned from it. When former President Bill Clinton discusses his painful experience with almost being impeached, he smiles, waves his hand graciously and dismisses the whole incident as just another welcome learning opportunity.
