Positive Signs at a Job Interview

Here are some signs to watch for as they usually indicate a job offer is in the offing. They include when an interviewer:

Asks about your willingness to commute or your desire to relocate

Asks how the job looks or asks if you can see yourself in the job

Asks how much notice you intend to give your present employer

Asks if you have any other job offers under consideration

Confirms contact information for your references

Suddenly stops asking questions

Launches into a sales pitch on the firm’s benefits package

Says he has discussed your application with another manager

Admits that there are only one or two final candidates remaining

Asks if you’re willing to accept a small cubicle

Starts using his desk calculator

Takes you on a tour of the facility or your future office

Introduces you to firm managers and or future subordinates

Tells his secretary to treat you with more consideration

If your interviewer intentionally moves closer to you (comes out from behind a desk) or leaves the room for awhile, you can assume that things are going well. If he offers some information that he indicates is in any way restricted or is office gossip or rumor, its another positive indication.
